The demo version of this app doesn't let you open your pictures to convert them and it doesn't let you save your work either. Other than those two limitations, the demo lets you use all the functionality that MacStitch has to offer.

Abstract
You don’t need to create a specific bootable drive, use the installer you've just downloaded and install the new macOS 10.14 onto the other drive you have.
WinStitch, and its Mac based brother MacStitch, have a lot going for them. With a massive 30 thread types, and great ease of use, it’s a fantastic competitor. However, its not been widely picked up due to its fairly young age (5 years), so does not have as much following as PC Stitch. In addition the yearly upgrades are chargable (although not required). In addition you can move the pattern from MacStitch to WinStitch with ease.

BlendThreads (FREE) – 8/10
Now, this is designed for 28 thread count fabric, and if stitched over one thread, it would produce a design about 6″ square, so not very big, and definitely not large enough to line an Easter basket! But to enlarge the design, I just have to cut it in the center and add repeats to achieve the length and width I want. If I were making a very large cloth, I might design an element for the center that coordinates with the edge.
