The program is associated with the launch of new adjustments by Topaz Labs, specific for Topaz Studio, some free, others paid. An expanding library of One-Click Effects, perfect for quick edits, or inspiring your creativity, will be available after launch. Effects can be downloaded, applied, then customized further to get exactly the look you want.
You can also try any Pro Adjustment by clicking the Try Pro button. You will be able to use the Adjustment for 30 days, completely free of charge.

Do not think that this is somehow specific RAW-related - it looks more like a HW/SW incompatibility after the recent Topaz update. At least it works with JPEG!

General knowledge: Once installed, an app is typically stored in the /Applications directory, and the user preferences for how the app is configured are stored in ~/Library/Preferences directory.
