Hi, I just obtained a Philips ToUCam III (SPC900NC) to start astrophotography on my MacBook Pro with the following configuration: Machine Name: MacBook Pro 15" Machine Model: MacBookPro1,1 CPU Type: Intel Core Duo Number Of Cores: 2 CPU Speed: 2 GHz L2 Cache (shared): 2 MB Memory: 1 GB Bus Speed: 667 MHz Boot ROM Version: MBP11.0055.B02 SMC Version: 1.2f10 Sudden Motion Sensor: State: Enabled System Software Overview: System Version: Mac OS X 10.4.7 (8J2135) Kernel Version: Darwin 8.7.1 using the latest macam software (Version 0.8.7) and also installed ponent (same version) I have already used the camera with either a video capturing software package specialized for astrophotography (Keith's AstroImager v3.6) or the macam stand alone app successfully (GREAT WORK!). However, I noticed that the movies captured with macam contain much more frames (120) compared to the AstroImager recording (20 or so, over similar recording time), and that the resolution on the macam movie was half that of the AstroImager movie (320x240 vs 640x480, resp.). So I tried to change the rate and format (after having stopped video capture with the camera) but can not change the rate to anything but 5 fps and can change the resolution only from SIF (320x240) to QSIF (160x120), but not VGA (640x480) [which I would like to change it to, and is a format the camera is capable operating on seeing the AstroImager result]. Can you please help?
