Overview. EventScripts is a plugin for Valve's Source engine that allow custom scripts to execute on the server. The engine is heavily event-driven, as the name implies, allowing a scripter or game server administrator to take action whenever an event occurs in the game.
What I didn’t explain last time was how to turn this into an application. It’s really easy. The few scripts I’ve written were written in Script Editor. Building an application from a script is as simple as selecting File→Export, select File Format→Application and click Save.
Furthermore, MDM commands are sent to a client without the expectation of any feedback, other than that the command was received. The installation may fail and the MDM will not care. Some management solutions close the loop by reporting installed applications back through a custom agent and can take action on that data. But it would be nice if this loop were closed by the MDM protocol and agent directly.
Start the EventScripts app. The only indication that it started is a new icon in your menu bar at the top of your screen:

You can skip SetupAssistant and DEP entirely and enroll to the MDM with a script or pkg. This defers the mandatory clicking for user approval to the end of the deployment workflow, but there are still some configuration and deployment tasks, that have to be put on hold until user-approval of the MDM is given. Third Party Kernel Extensions and tools that require PPPC approval can’t be installed without a UAMDM. This is based on one of the bundled scripts.
