Apple imposes limitations on developers, meaning some cannot – or choose not to – release their apps on the Mac App Store. Reasoning varies from a lack of deep system access for utilities to app creators wanting the ability to immediately issue updates rather than having them await Mac App Store review.
Gateboy is an advanced gate sequencer which allows to add motion to any audio. It includes a swing-capable sequencer with up to 16 steps having individual levels and two working modes. Each step can trigger the flexible envelope generator with multiple forms and unique shaping options such as lag processor and modulation saturation.
Basically, there are plugins out there that offer gate effects, like Camel Space and also Audio Damage BigSeq. They both are great but I just wanted a standalone plugin without all the clutter these offer, that is why I wrote Gateboy. It offers bypass switches per step, quick editing with levels, step form and length, and also has one feature I haven't yet seen which is pattern smoothing - which is great for complex but smooth ambient tremolo effects.
Find the installer file (if will be located in the Applications folder, or you could search for it using Spotlight (command + Space and start typing Mojave).
Once installed, Dropzone 3 feels like an integral part of MacOS. The bare-bones application functions as a shortcut tool, meaning you can use it to quickly copy and move files, launch applications, and share content through popular services such as Facebook and Flickr. You can also upload files via FTP and Amazon S3, or shorten URLs using the newly-added shortener. It’s all housed within a tiny icon that sits in the menu bar.
