Under Preferences > Keyboard Shortcuts, you can set up additional keyboard shortcuts to open the app window, copy and star items in one shot, paste clippings in the current list and/or history, toggle transformations, etc.
ClipX is a tiny program that does the same thing as the other tools, but with fewer features. Unfortunately, it hasn’t been updated since 2008, but works just fine on Windows 7 and Windows 8/10 64-bit. The premise is the same: you copy items normally and then use a shortcut key to access those items.
Any ideas? Can I install any 3rd party clipboard software etc?

Remember, if you make a mistake and paste in the wrong place, regardless of whether you’re copying or moving the items, you can always press Command-Z to undo the action.

Is there some sort of built-in way to view the history of the clipboard, or do I have to install a program?
To paste from the queue, use the control-command-v (also editable in the preferences) shortcut and the first item in the queue will be pasted first. Each time you use this shortcut, the next item in the queue will get pasted until the queue is empty.
